The Herasymenko family wants to live on their land but needs a new house

Oksana with the children managed to leave Makariv in March and spent more than 2 months in Poland. Viktor, Oksana’s husband, was the first one who found out that the house had been destroyed, and tried to hide the painful news.
The family decided to come back to Makariv in May. Although they knew that there was nowhere to return, their hearts were yearning for a home. To their loved ones, to their community, and to work.

Oksana continues to work as the head of the HR department at the hospital. The experience left a considerable burden on the soul, but at home, it is gradually reduced. She is delighted to see how the community is recovering, including one of the hospital’s premises.

Viktor, Oksana’s husband, rebuilt a small room next to the garage that survived for his parents to live in: now there is heating, a kitchen, and a place to sleep. And the four of them live in one room at their aunt’s house. Only the foundation remained of the big house that one day will become the basis for a new family nest. Now the family is waiting for a small house of their own.
We’re grateful to the Restream company for the $45,000 donation, and informational support of the project, which helped us purchase modular houses for 2 families, including the Herasymenko, and Kostiuchenko families.
