The story of Maksym Haidachuk’s family

Maksym and his sister had started to be rebuilt their now-ruined house shortly before the start of the full-scale invasion. They were improving their home, had done repairs, and had replaced the windows a few months before they blew out by an explosive wave.

All members of the large family contributed to the improvement of their family nest: Maksym’s wife and sister, her husband, and their 5-year-old daughter. The sister’s family was evacuated to Poland, and Maksym’s wife was forced to leave the country.

Maksym himself left Makariv on March 7th after a local kindergarten was hit. The house was destroyed on March 10-11. When Maksym returned in May, he found a crater from a shell near the house. The wave also destroyed neighboring houses.

Maksym works in a newly established agricultural company located at the site of a former bread factory. He works shifts when there is an additional need for workers, as there is almost no work in the town. His sister and her husband work in Poland in warehouses and hope to return to their own land in April or May.

The planting season is coming soon, so Maksym plans to till the land and rebuild the house if possible. He will have to dismantle everything and build from scratch to reunite the family.

Thanks to the contribution from OLX Ukraine, a 4-Module NEST-house installed for the Haidachuk Family
