How Ukrainians are surviving the winter in Kalynivka (BBC reportage)

russian army has already destroyed Inna’s home twice. The first time was in 2014 and the second happened in 2022. Now this family lives in a temporary shelter from logs and a tarp. Every day it’s becoming colder and colder and they are freezing out. Thanks to our NEST initiative and donors this family is about to receive a comfortable modular house that can be used all year round.

Nadiia’s parents started building their house when she was in the 6th grade. Her life, memories, a large library, photographs — everything burned down with the house. Now Nadiia with her son and his fiancée lives in the tiny cold summer kitchen that was not destroyed by the russian army. They have to cook, sleep, and “take a shower” in one room.

Thank BBC for highlighting the humanitarian disaster in Kalynivka, Kyiv region, and particularly the story of these two families.
