“13 years ago mom sold her apartment in Baku and we bought this house and began additional construction on it. In time, we only had to fix the fence, everything else was ready for a comfortable life.”

A few years ago Maksym’s mother passed away, but the family did not even think of moving anywhere else. Maksym, his wife, and his brother stayed in their home in Makariv. Maksym works in Kyiv in the technical services department of telethon news. His wife, an art instructor, teaches at a school in Kyiv.

A week before the full-scale invasion, the couple fell ill with coronavirus and stayed in Kyiv. And after de-occupation of the village they had nowhere to return to; instead of a home, ruins awaited them.

According to the neighbors, there were several hits which were the reason for the explosion. The family wants to rebuild their family nest right there. They liked to garden, fix up the house and yard, and relax on the terrace on warm days.

But to make this happen right away is impossible. The family needs support, a modular house, so that step by step they can rebuild their family nest.
